BRAY HEAD co.wicklow

#1 Post by roger de dodger »

People:me and keith

Duration:longer than we would have liked

Tide:high at 10 ish

Weather:ok

Bait:lug squid razor mac and mussel

Rigs: 3 hook flappers and pully (and some fancy ones for keith)
Results:coalies, shore rockling ,3 bearded rockling and a scorpion fish

Report:myself and keith decided to go get a bray head cod or codling ,we went we tried we floundered but will be back  bites where few and far between and not a whiting between us :?: very strange .was quiet enough for the fist few hours so we decided to move down to the north beach ,only to find ourselves cut off by the tide :x
So under duress from mother nature we fished on a while longer ,keith decided to tempt fate one time to many and got swamped by a wave ,i must admitt i didnt know if i should  or :( as it was a bit cold my mind was made up when keith bent down to bait up and his hood emptied about a litre of water down his back
NO ANGLERS WHERE HARMED IN THE MAKING OF THIS REPORT!
OR COD :!:
i will however BE BACK!!!!!!!!!!!!
p.s mussel and squid best bait

the mark gets cut off on the bigger tides and isnt safe to fish in really rough weather but can be good like all marks on its day ,mixed ground so heavey gear best ,might give greystones south a bash next, the big tides might make it a tad difficult  think its gonna be weedy aswell after that wind over the last few days :|

Fished the south beach myself last night form 10pm to 1am, hw around 11pm I think, weed was a nightmare, I should have known better with the wind/swell as strong as it was. Got a baby bass and a whiting, that was all. With the large swell, there wasnt much beach to fish from
