Any good reports off the pier lately just want to meet a few fish getting desperate all info will be held in confidence thanks. :( :( :(

Fished a comp there before xmas only 2 whiting over 30cm were caught.
Specimen Fish 2024: Shore Rockling (3) 36cm, 34cm, 31cm; Thick Lipped Mullet (2) 58cm, 57cm; Smooth Hound (1) 109cm; Sting Ray (1)125cm; Ballan Wrasse (1) 48cm ; Corkwing Wrasse (1) 24.8cm. Golden Grey Mullet (2) 43cm, 1.8lb; 40.6cm, 1.55lb;
Total species boat/shore: 45

Specimen Fish 2025: To date: 6.
Flounder 46cm; Spurdog 120cm; Stingray 91cm; Smooth Hound 114cm; 103.5cm; 104cm

i was on the pier around the end of november and we were getting plenty of doggies, almost 1 every 2nd cast. whiting were there too but mainly small ones. in the 3 hours we were there we only had about 4 decent whiting and countless small ones but doggies were the main thing biting.
baits we were using were squid, mack and lug.

i fished it in november , had 3 conger , biggest was 30lb
species '09 - (42)

specimens 09 - twait shad 1.22kg , 3 beard rockling 2lb 6oz , whiting 3lb .

ha ha. one of the lads i met there that day was hoping to get a conger. he had 2 rods out, 1 with a mack fillet, other with a mack head. didnt even get a bite in 2.5-3 hours.

he was up behind where you park the car, the walkway with the railing towards the end of the pier?? was he close boycie??

out on the breakwater mate up near the second elbow !! you will se a slab of concrete comin out from the wall its only about 7 foot long !! there is a ledge underneath it !! put your bait right there and wait !! :wink:

cheers, i dont have a whole lot of interest in congers but might give it a go the next time im down there.
