Re: Garry V 6-1-09
Fishing has been very poor over the last couple of weeks due to the easterly winds. I headed out on Saturday night hopeful of a few fish as the wind has changed to a light southerly/southwesterly and it was markedly milder than the previous week - fished an East Cork beach for 5 hours with a resonable surf and only got a 36 cm flounder to show for it.
Were you fishing Garryvoe in daylight? - it is not likely to produce much at the moment in daylight - you might have a chance of a coalie at dusk or whiting after dark - but with the wind returning to Easterly again the fishing would likely to be poor.
You would probably have a good chance of picking up a few fish off Ballycotton Pier if you can stand the cold - it will be very exposed in the easterly winds.
Southwesterlies are forecast for next weekend so hopefully fishing should pick up - well we can live in hope anyway

Re: Garry V 6-1-09
i was told the same as what rockhunter said about garyvoe, it only produces fish at night. a few people told me that and also thet the front of the hotel is the best spot to fish so at least you got your positions right.
your in competition with me for the blanks there basslover, we both seem to have a knack for it.

Have faith Kevin. We'll bring you out in the near future some evening and hopefully get in amongst a few fish.

basslover - your not alone - imagine how long it would take to read the reports section if all blanks were posted
last 3 sessions all blanks for me - as was said above the easterly seemed to kill it all

Re: Garry V 6-1-09
out myself today for around 4 hours down in inch and blanked but did lose a bass 10 feet out in the surf fish was small 2or3Lbs but still would have been nice to land it its just that time of year when fishing start to go down hill as between now and march is when a lot of fish go to deeper waters to spawn but with the lack of codling for the past few months the fishing could be a few weeks behind
