Waterfoot Beach 2-1-2009

#1 Post by round_ourway »

People:Me, Fra and Dave

Duration: 4.00pm - 11.30pm

Tide: LW @ 9.00pm

Weather: SE Winds, Cold But dry

Bait: Lug, Sandeel, Rag, Mackerel, Squid

Rigs:Pennel Pulleys, 3 Hook clipped/flappers

Results: Flounder, Dab, Plaice, Shore Rockling, Codling, Coalfish, Whiting

Report:

We arrived at waterfoot and set up for shortly after 4.00pm.
We landed a couple of nice flounders and dab.
I got to try my new filthy humpalumpa with a walk of 50 yards down the beach lol. Dave joined us around 6.30pm and we decided to move further up the beach. None of the fish were of any real size. With things starting to slow down around 11pm with decided to hit the road and stop off for a chinese in carlough.
We had hoped for some durty codling but there none any size about.

I have to make a couple of alterations and additions to the new humpa and then we are cooking. Its a great bit of kit and the big fat wheels look the bizness.

I enjoyed myself Stevie. It was nice to get out again, it must be at least 6 weeks since I cast a line! That Humpalumpa thingy is some piece of kit. Wheels remind me of a Banana Split Buggie ( showing my age?)

I haven't fished it much this year to be honest. I find it fishes most of the year round and has thrown up some surprises.
Thats some casting distance there marty, well done fella.

Well done on getting out and catching some fish. That beach has been very slow for me this last few sessions on it.

Thanks, It can be hard fishing on this beach. all fish were mostly caught in the surf no more than 30 yards out.

Hopefully get out a bit more this year and try a further round the coast.
