Walk the dog

In the sea angling Ireland guide 09, the author repeatedly uses the phrase "walk the dog" style retieve, What does this mean exactly.
2010 - Whiting, Dogfish, 3 bearded Rockling, Shore Rockling, Pollock, Dab, Plaice, Launce, Sea Scorpion, Goby, Gunnel, Codling, Red Cod, Smooth Hound, Ballan Wrasse, Corkwing Wrasse

its mainly a jerk baiting style .
the author must of been reading to many books on things to do while jerking :lol: :lol:
short rod pointing towards water at 45 degrees and slight wrist flicks of about 6 inches or so just to pulse the lure accross the water :wink:

Hi Cormdogg,

John is spot on. You should play around with different retrieves to see what works best. Some samples here on the Rapala Skitterpop and Lucky Craft Sammy.

pike angler refer to it when using jerk baits
