The fish that gave me the strongest fight was a 4 lb ballan wrasse caught with rag worm from a deep water rock mark on the Beara Peninsula in August

A fairly poor year big fish wise, but I did hone my skills at catching as many 20cm fish as I could in 5 hours.

Will put that right this year because I intend to get a lot more pleasure fishing than match fishing. This was my best I think, a lovely 8lb specimen smoothie off Clones Beach. One of the best sessions of the year too with plenty of fish knocking rods & tripods over!!

My best fish from 2008 and was a small eyed ray which was well into double figures. I think it was around 15lb and landedit on 15lbline when fishing for bass with sandeels

168lb skate caught on Mark Gannon's boat in Courtmacsherry. :D :D

Pat fish of a lifetime (800 x 600).jpg

But I would swap it for that spurdog of yours John, just could not get one this year for some reason.

Both of Dingle peninsula.

Yea, if pushed i'd probably agree, but it was the pollack mark that made it. Shallow water and on this session hooked and lost 2 more fish as big or bigger but no chance of stopping the first dive into the weeds even with 13.5 foot beachcaster. This was the best one i landed.
