bray head recession *2

#1 Post by eric »

People:myself and dbrock

Duration:5-10

Tide:last 3 of the rise and first two of the drop

Weather: slight easterly

Bait:crab and lug

Rigs:pulley pennels

Results:2 codling, one was 6lb 3oz

Report:after the dodger and i had a good session there a while back a decision was made for the return leg last night, conditions where spot on and opes where high. after a treacherous trek to the mark we ended up fishing on the grass above the rocks as the sea was a little on the big side fish of our usual spot. sure enough early on Dennis and i had two good bites, one of which having me hooking up with a decent fish only to loose it too a snag a few minutes later where my shockleader knot eventually gave way. had to wait till the drop until the fish returned, when one bite had me into another decent fish, landed this by the skin of our teeth, was barely lipped hooked, but by some miracle dennis manged to salvage it for me. got the fish home and it weighed 6lb 3oz, that was after it was gutted so i would say it was pushing 7, measured 57cm on the rule. next cast had me into another codling, only this one was smaller, and after i got a phone call i had to answer while reeling in dennis did the rest of the work technically saving the blank. missed another bite on the final cast and it slack lined me again, could have been a great way to end 08 if we didnt miss all the bloody bites, but was happy enough with my fish. dennis has the pic so i sure he will post it up
