codling 29/12/08

martin howlen and myself
hit a mark that has started to produce a few codling
first cast a codling of 4lb 8oz all i had the rest of the night were whiting.
martin lost a good fish the first cast bait had only hit the water and bang fish on
a good few codling up to a 1lb
im looking forward to a nice fillet tomorrow

Nice one Pete. I know you've been putting in the hours. I'll be down Clones / Kilgorman way myself on Saturday.......anywhere near there worth a bash?

Lovely fish its about time they started showing, can you tell me was it a North or South Wexford beach you caught it on??? and what bait you were using :?:

Cheers for that Peter, think i have an idea where you were. Hopefully might get out this weekend and catch an elusive codling. :lol:

well done lovely looking fish.... where abouts did you catch that its just im headn down south this weekend and would like to know somewhere that fishs half decent as its my first trip down.....

Nice fish pete ,I think i was fishing about 300m from you , i didn't realise it was another forum member until I read your post , I had a similar sized fish just before you's arrived ,maybe a shoal moving through .

were ya in the entrance
martin called over to afew lads there from the north
i got a call to say there were a good few running the night before
hope the next outting is more productive

Yeah that was us , It's a pity a few more fish didn't show , good laugh chasing the wee sh+++s that were throwing stones at me though :lol:

I dont think they expected to see someone in a flotation suit running after them :twisted:

Nice fish pete, Must of missed that shoal that passed through :roll:

Think i was talking to both of ye lads the other nite, think the both of ye were still fishing when we left!! Think you showed us your fish pete? We were fishing up at the top to the left of ye.....blanked :evil:

Went out again last night (not as cold :shock:

) same spot had one codling just under a pound. Heres hoping it will pick up.
