southeast beach 28/12/08

#1 Post by theshoreking »

People: Me n Davewalt

Duration:4 - 7pm

Tide: 6.20pm

Weather:east wind

Bait:lug, razor

Rigs:clipped pennels

Results:bass (c&r)

Report:Went to look at a beach and no weed. Surf was big - bigger than I would have liked. We said we would try anyway. Tried 5oz, then 6oz, then 7oz grips and none held. They were even arcing around too fast for our liking. We got bass but I hate fishin in those conditions.

Well done on getting a few bass in those conditions.
I think I might have fished the same beach yesterday - were you in approx the centre of the beach and did you see an angler on the far left/east side of the beach?
Unfortunately all I caught was a clump of seaweed
And it was damn cold - I didn't change the bait as regularly as I should have as my fingers had gone numb.
Cod season Winter 2013/14: 117 cod (best fish: 6.5 lbs)
Cod season Winter 2014/15: 193 cod (best fish: 4.25 lbs)

Wen we went back to the car we both commented that it was much milder than we had expected. Davewalt was wearin neoprene gloves alright (sissy  ) but he swears by the things. We thought it wasnt as bad down on the beach as it was higher up. I suppose the few fish got the adrenalin goin or else we were soooo cold that we couldn't feel anyghing

Not goin again till the surf starts to die out a little - sometime :x
