Ennereilly, 27 -December-2008

People: Me
Duration:7:00 pm -1:00 am approx.
Tide: rising (http://www.irishtimes.com/weather/tides.html)
Weather: cold, east wind (I think)
Bait: lug
Result: Codling, whiting

Nothing on TV decided to take a big hike up North Ennereilly beach to try out my new Xmas presents, so off I set with me lugworm from Southside Angling After about 20 minutes or so or hiking in the cold, I found the spot I wanted.

Action was slow enough, though I did pick off a 30 cm codling as the tide rose higher. Other than that, the usual dozen or whiting were picked up. Another long trudge back down the beach followed.

Not much to show for it a cold evening, but great to get out again after the Christmas. Gonna try further down the south-east for a few days, so watch out for reports.

It's nice to get out all the same. The nice thing about the walk is it warms the toes back up after the cold. Looks like this easterly has knocked the fishing a bit.

yes, I think so. I don't mind the walk either - plenty of fresh air, silence, and time to clear your head. Cold is good too. It's the rain I don't like...:)

I'm heading there on Saturday all going well. I've never fished there before though. Where would you suggest Uvox, I've seen very mixed reports.

Myself, Mark and sean were up there last night too! We thought we saw Albys car but didn't see anyone fishing, Fishing was pretty poor the usual whiting and a few small Bass, you seemed to have better luck anyway :)
