greystones,the rocks, 28-12-08

People:me , big mick ,and fishface

Duration:2pm -4.30pm

Tide:falling

Weather:bitter cold,east wind, sunny

Bait:frozen mack, squid, sandeel

Rigs:flapper , single hook clipped down

Results:me-blank.big mick-blank, fishface-blank

Report:Where do I start??? I'll start with the positives,,,,,Well it was great to get out of the house for a while, great to be out with friends having a bit of banter, and great to get back into the heat afterwards.Didnt lose too much gear either,,,mick 3 rigs, myself 1 rig. There were some big waves rolling in. Even though the tide was ebbing the waves were crashing over the rocks. It was hard to get the bait(all frozen) out any distance at all. All baits came back untouched. It was one of those days where you know that there were no fishies out there. Even fishface didnt get a bite with his distance casts    . Would have liked to have stayed into darkness for an hour or so but big mick was driving (THATS MY EXCUSE ANYWAY!!). Well, another blank over so i reckon that improves my chances the next time,,,,,hopefully   .I'm looking forward to Courtown next Sunday week and joining SAI ,meself and micks first comp, so i'll be expecting lots of pms with plenty of tips from my brother anglers out there.

Was out there myself yesterday morning from 7am until 11am, was using squid, mackerel, razor, mussell and prawn. Didn't even get a bite, very poor fishing alright.
A bad day fishing is better than a good day at the office!

Hard luck on the blanks. I was in Wicklow harbour on Saturday and and kinda blanked. As I was packing up I reeled in a Whiting but he was a goner!!!!!

Fished for about 5 hours for him all the same. Oh and my crab count for the year is well up now too!
