#1 Post by taz »

People:me and thom

Duration:2 1/2 hours

Tide: high at 6

Weather: freeze the nuts of a brass monkey no wind

Bait: mack , shrimp , whiting

Rigs: 2 down

Results:1 coalie and a my gear back thom blanked

Report:
had to head out and clear the head and fix the body for going on the pi55 again tonight
headed to lacken pier at high couldn't find any clean ground left after a couple of cast and 1 lost rig , every casthad to be tugged and f'ed lose .then headed to cummin back strand nice strand bit of a struggle down to the beach with the ground frozen hard and a fairly steep decline. the waves were breaking just on the beach sand was frozen hard . had a couple of cast on dead bait no joy . then i trow on a float and a lumi rig gave it a almighty cast and snap
unfortunatly the bail slipped back on and there flying through the night sky went my lumi looked cool but just peed me off so put a single hook and a ball of lead on quick so i could put my paws back into my pockets to keep them warm casted of and just when my hands started thawing out saw the tip of rod going like a good thing started to reel in what felt like a small boat ,only to turn out to be my float ,lumi and 6 oz lead :D and a 2 1/2 lb coalie . the coalie was a added bonus would have just settled for my rig after a another hour the cold got to us and had to leave before we ended up like that poor brass monkey.
definitly try the spot again nice clean ground a very strong ripp

nice goin taz sounds like a nice coalie . You should try a puulley rig over the rough ground or maybe even a lead lift above the lead!!
If I'm not gonna catch a fish , I may aswell not catch a BIG fish !
