Donaghadee harbour wed 10th dec

#1 Post by Al and Jordan »

People: me and jordan, then dawsey at the end

Duration: 5pm - 9pm

Tide: low to high

Weather: 10mph - 15mph winds, dry and ccccccccold!!

Bait: last weeks rag

Rigs: 3 hook flappers

Results: ME: 13 pollock and 4 shore rockling. JORDAN: 3 pollock, 1 pouting, 1 long spined sea scorpion, 1 poor cod and 1 codling. DAWSEY: 2 shore rockling, 2 pollock and 1 long spined sea scorpion (up to when we left)

Report: after not having been down here in a while, jordan had me pestered for a short session at the dee. so a quick run down after school was in order. we were set up for 5pm with me fishing my usual 2 rods and jordan his 1. i was first into a pollock, quickly followed by jordan. then it all went quiet for an hour or so and jordan kept himself warm by running laps round the light house. it was dead funny, he had his wee cap lights on. so it must have looked like the council were skimping on eletric for the light house and employed a runner instead       then the rockling came on the feed and i got a couple, and jordan landed more pollock. by now it was after 7pm and jordan got a respectable long spined sea scorpion of 16 cms who was in fine voice croaking his wee head off. do'nt be alarmed by the blood in the pic of him, as it was mines not his      i always tell jordan to be careful when handling them as they can be quite spikey, and of course i stuck my thumb in one of the spikes    a case of do as daddy says, not as daddy does    jordan also got the only codling that we've had in a while. then dawsey arrived with a box of king prawn to get in on the action. he started off with a pollock, then a shore rockling and a long spined sea scorpion. by now it was near 9pm and we called it a day, but left dawsey fishing on. not a bad we session at short notice. the one thing i did notice, was that all the kelp free clear spots i usually cast into seemed to be full of snags :? :? :? :? :? :? :? :? during the summer while we've been fishing other marks, the kelp must have grown round and enchroached the mouth of the harbour resulting in 6 lost traces and leads      . but i suppose it's good news for the fish as it's more cover for them to feed and hide in. no monsters but great fun all the same. this wee mark has'nt let us down yet :D :D :D :D :D
