would have been smoothies but sure there already up

a close second would be the humble flounder, im obsessed with flatties

bait- usually worm baits or crab(estuary) though they will eat anything!!
hook- 6/4/2/1 (dependent on expected size )
rig- flappers for close work loops for distance fishing
beads- good god no, maybe attach a small floaty if tidal movement is minimal
favorite spots- katts strand, whiterock, talbot bay and a few secrete ones!
p.b-43cm
species for 2009 (42)
species for 2010 (27)
species for 2011 (12)
species for 2012 (8)

Like eric, it has to be the flounder, im a demon for flat bashing, foregoing all else on occasion on some of the best beaches in the country in pursuit of the humble flat. Rigs wise, for the most part, long snooded flappers to 6 4 and 2 hooks. Used to use the match hooks but get nailed by too many bass down here ,(the pests !) bait wise, they will eat pretty much anything, the key is in presentation. Beads, a single lumi floatie on the top snood, dirty water or night time might see more lumi beads come out but for the most part, the plainer the better, let your bait do the talking! Pb is 47cms, a beauty but spawned so quite light for its size. Have a huge passion for flat bashing on the surf beaches, its my favourite form of fishing. I dont get the same buzz from estuary marks.

best fighting fish mackerel the reason is normally the seal behind him
it depends really on the gear one uses to catch any fish ,put a 10lb bass on a 13 foot beachcaster = ok fight ,put it on a light 12 foot spinning rod with braid and prepare to have a reel scrap 8)

name: whiting
bait: usually anything on the shopping list, anything processed needs to be takin out of the tin first though. puncture the plastic wrapping on cheese packets to release sent. wooly jumpers soaked in fish oil.
hooks: teeth stick to the wool
fight: only if they start it
looks: i fancy them
marks: 10 out a 10
rods: wade out in wooly jumper and wait for jacoozi type bubbles, no need for a rod. just remember to get back ashore before the load gets too heavy. if there are lots of whiting in on a particular night you may find it hard to wade out experiencing a 'walking on water' type feeling as you go over the backs of the whiting. jumping on the spot usually sorts this but it can take a while...

whiting... no other fish comes close because there are too many whiting in the way
