People: my own

Duration: 12.30 -18.30

Tide: low at 17.00

Weather: clear skies bright cold

Bait: lug, mac, sandeel, squid

Rigs: 3 hook flapper, pennel pulley

Results: blank

Report: arrived to fish the pier but the council are still working on it - decided to fish the point to the north of it - ground clean enough - only lost a rig on my last cast thanks to the raised tip tape making contact with the line!!!

crabs very efficient - but not constant

waited for lw and for the darkness but nothing showed - waded around nothing small anywhere - got a good look at the place at least

divers, seals, all sorts of geese and gulls all knocking about the place feeding but no sign of any fish, very strange

nice depth of water there too reckon 7-8 metres when HW

just one of those days

perhaps - but i usually think of these things as a good sign - the area being healthy, having feed etc.

doesnt usually mean blank straight away - but maybe you are right at this hard time of year maybe

the other thing could be the works on the pier - maybe not initially but now after weeks/months of it the fish have moved away

Unlucky Brian thought you'd have got something at that mark it looks like a great ambush spot.... would like to try it when there's some bait fish running the channel guess we'll have to wait till the summer months unless you bring some of the whitting back across with ya next time
