rusheen bay, Galway 07/12/08

People:just me.

Duration:12:00-1:30

Tide:full in, starting to go out

Weather:sunny, not too cold, bit of a breeze.

Bait:bread

Rigs:weighted float, size 6 short shank hook.

Results:one mullet




Report:wasnt a bad session, got there and there was a shoal of about 50 i reckon cruising around doing sod all. had my bait inches away for the fish sometimes and they just weren't interested. finally one went straight for the bread and took it with no hesitation. great fight followed with the fish making some good runs on the light tackle. i would guess it was around 3.75-4 pounds.

was there many around or are they starting to vanish :?:
the last mullet i saw was the 1st week in november but there was only 30 odd fish.2 weeks before that there was 200-300.way too cold now :cry:

there was a shoal where i fish, maybe about 100 fish max? they have vanished out of the main corrib estuary as the water coming down would be very cold.

i am expecting this shoal to stay around until next summer, i think they are fairly resident.
