Lacken / Ballycastle area
I'm heading to Ballycastle tomorrow to meet up with the missus before i head up to Donegal on Monday / Tuesday. Since she is there to see a friend of hers i may take the chance to get out and have a while out fishing. Never fished here before is there any bait shops there that be open tomorrow? Or Monday? I'm looking forward to this week off work and a nice bit of fishing in it. any help will be fantastic.

Re: Lacken / Ballycastle area
Nearest bait suppliers are in Ballina.
Low water at mouth of the river is your best option on Lacken.
One of the newbies here had a good session on the pier nearing HW, do a search and you will find the report.
Eastern side (ledges) has one pollack hotspot and the option of a sea trout. Sandeel best bait.
Right up at the top near the sheep herders hut (stone building) there is a deep hole where you get wrasse in the summer, macks etc. I;ve been told that you can pick up codling and small ling from it in winter, whiting probably too.
Hope this helps

Time spent fishing is never time wasted...
2015 targets - a triggerfish, a specimen bass, a three bearded rockling to complete the set and something big and toothy from certain north Mayo deep water marks
