East Cork ~ West Waterford 30/11/08

#1 Post by craigo »

People:myself & stevo

Duration:all day

Tide:7 ish

Weather:ddcalm but COLD

Bait:lug rag crab bluey
dd
Rigs:pennels & flappers

Results:Whiting Whiting and more Whiting

Report:Tried deepwater quay in Cobh first , not even a bite. headed to Monkstown then with the attack of whiting there neverending , if there was codling there they had no chance with the whiting . The bait was hardly in the water and the bites begun. I then tried dropping a fillett of bluey on a pennel at my feet for a conger , same again with the whiting straight away on the bait . Within 3~4 mins there was nothing left on the fillett.
Went to the Cunnigar on the way back , got there too early to start fishing so decided on Clonea Strand where we both blanked. Where are the doggies when you need them. :x A waste of Great bait and a waste of a day!
If I'm not gonna catch a fish , I may aswell not catch a BIG fish !
