Kilcoole 28/11/08

#1 Post by diego »

People: me and Giovanni

Duration: 20.30 to 01.30

Tide: High Tide @ 00.00

Weather: No wind, no rain, very cold (-3 C)

Bait: Lug

Rigs: 2 hooks rig and 3 hooks rig

Results: a dozen whiting, a bunch of rockling, 1 small bass and 5 crabs

Report:

I decided to go fishing in Kilcoole as the weather was nice but very cold, I thought that it was time for the codling to make their appearance to that beach.
Not much to say about this session, I was hoping to catch some codling or at least a coalie but it turned out to be a freezing and poor session.
At one stage I was going mad, no bites for more then 1 hr and I lost a rig; then I got five crabs (two in one go).

The highlight of the session was that Giovanni caught a small bass, it was his first ever bass (he's not a bass virgin anymore  )

I still have some lug from this session and I'll probably go to Ennereilly tomorrow for a couple of hours just to feed the whiting. I prefer feeding the whiting then the crabs. :)

Well, you did some at least a small bass!

Never fished Kilcoole, though I heard sometimes floating weed can be a problem there.

I'll give it a try if I blank at Greystones tomorrow!
