rock mark cork 28nov08

#1 Post by beachbuddy »

People:myself and gunther

Duration:2hrs

Tide:6

Weather:freezing cold and rough again :(

Bait:lures
dd
Rigs:

Results:4 bass,me 1 and gunther 3

Report:Decided to give it another lash on this rock mark with the light winds.Once again the sea had other ideas, the roughest i fished in to be honest. There werent much signs of fish but we kept plugging away and after 10 mins i had a hook up but lost the fish on the rocks not huge but 5 or 6 for def.Eventually landed a fish of about 3lb.Gunther then found his touch when he changed to the brighest lure in his box.Despite 5months without fishing he caught 3 in quick succession, this guy would catch in a puddle im convinced after today.A good day but a word of warning to people who plug over rocky terrain, always take care and have your mobile as you never know what can happen,as in like today i ended up in a heap on the journey home, knee and hands knackered and gunther has his back in ruins after helping me up the cliffs, cheers francis,a close call but if i was alone who knows.
Point of lesson be careful out there :!: :!:
Anyway thats all from me now known as hop along, fish safe and enjoy

too right,

I was out aswell today with a mate and he twisted his ankle on the rocks. They seemed slippier than normal. I had studs in my boots which I think helped a lot.

I'll be taking it easy for a while with regards the rocks, the mrs has forbidden me from venturing out on them til the summer, but what she does'nt know won't hurt her   .Seanie with the way ye deise boys have been fishing i'll have to hit yer beaches soon and hopefully get some fish from safe marks for a change.
Hope the frozen bait works down there as i won't be digging for a while :x :x .The fishing on the rocks has been decent if only the sea would calm down pity the beaches back here don't produce as much.Anyway we will go to any lengths to get amongst a few slippery ones as rory says and we all know :) :)

certainly adds an edge to the fishing with the waves crashing about the rocks, the fishing your having is as good as any up here, I was really proud of my 13 bass this year until I saw the other reports, also think cork could be the new Waterford for the bass

Sorry to hear about your fall - rocks can be dangerous alright - best to have a good pair of boots with good grip.
