thanks guys.

the cod took crab, lug razor cocktail at distance (landed 6, kept 3)
the bass took the same but close in (landed 8 and missed one really big slack line bite, all released)
the flats took black lug tipped with sandeel close in (lost count and was too interested in the cod and bass to be countin em. again all released)

wasn't expectin the cod yet coz hadn't been coming across many. Havin said that I have often got them off the mark at low water at distance esp with a west or northwest wind. One night you could get a dozen belters before the tide pushes you out of range. Other times you might get none or one two small ones. Thats fishin. I expect to see some more of em early next week with the forecast for such cold weather.

Youngrod

the beach itself would be considered clean but where I was at low water I was beside some rough ground. Quite a few of the west waterford clean beaches throw up good cod at low water at times.

Lovely fish both bass and cod. Heading down from the North this weekend for a session. Any info on marks for bass (or cod) much appreciated. I know the Dungarvan area pretty well but haven't had time yet to get to many of the other beaches.
