Weather: NW breeze, fair, water calm
Bait:rag, lug, mack
Results: 6 X dogs, 20+ small whiting

Decided to give Ennereilly a go this weekend. Got me bait from Boycie and headed down the coast, deciding to check out the Sea Angling Centre in Courtown Harbour. The lad in the shop there said the coast was fishing well lately and an 8.5 lb bass was taken during the week on the beach beside the harbour.

So I set up an Ennereilly at about 1.30. For the next six hours or so I was busy with dogfish and whiting. At one point I was hauling in whiting 3 at a time. dogs took everything tipped with mackerel. I was using two rods at different ranges - one at 150 metres didn't get a touch all afternoon, and the other took all the fish - 70-80 metres out. Draw your own conclusions.

After tea in Mickey D's in Arklow, decided enough dogfish and whiting for the day, and would resume the next day for another go.
