Rosslare Strand 21/10/08

#1 Post by craigo »

People:Myself and Do !

Duration:6:30 to 12:30

Tide:around 1 i think

Weather:dd fine

Bait:lug crab and mackeral
dd
Rigs:3/0 pulley and 2 hook flappers

Results:myself 1 schoolie bass and 2 codling. Do 2 flounder & 2 rockling

Report:Arrived around half 6 no bites for around an hour then i got the first rattle at distance on the crab on the pulley reeled into a slack line thought i'd missed the fish until a small bar of silver appeared on the sand infront of me. All was quiet again for around an hour then Do started getting rattles in the sudz reeled into a decent flounder. My turn again with a codling on the flapper in the sudz . Do hit two rockling one after another. I had another codling at the same time as Do's last flounder. All went quiet then , we had enough at that stage and headed for the hills some what dissapointed as the last time we fished that spot the fish just kept on coming.
If I'm not gonna catch a fish , I may aswell not catch a BIG fish !

The codling were small enough I think the first was around 35 cm the second was a little smaller nothing to get excited about ! They were a nice brownie red colour tho
