Salthill, Galway 19.11.08

#1 Post by saltydog »

People:Vinny Corrigan, stevecrow74 & myself

Duration:18:00-00:00 Vinny finished up at 23:00

Tide: Rising then Dropping HT approx 21:40

Weather:Dry night with wind NW turning W later and dying out

Bait:Fresh Mackerel, Sandeel & Squid

Rigs: Various

Results: Vinny 1 pin whitting, Steve blank, Myself 1 5 bearded rockling

Report: Not a great deal to report fishing was awful, looked promising with some movement in the water but it was just one of those evenings. Vinny was in first with the pin whitting then hours went by steve and myself kept getting our baits back hardy touched while Vinny was getting picked clean by crabs constantly. Vinny headed off around 23:00 myself and steve said we'd give it another hour in the hope some fish would eventually show. We were reeling in our last cast when blank saved a 5 bearded rockling (first of the year) was dangling from my trace....
