Antrim Beach - 15th November

#1 Post by pete »

People:Me and missus, Ronald and his missus

Duration:4.30pm to 8.30pm

Tide:Low water around 6.30pm

Weather:Dull with westerly of around F5, mild 7 or 8 degrees

Bait:Lug and mac
dd
Rigs:Flappers

Results:Over 50 flounder, 30 odd whiting, 10 coalies, 1 five bearded rockling, 2 codling

Report:Brought the partners for a bit of beach session and watched them gives us a bit of flaking, well Ronald got a whoppin anyhow

Fishing was superb with bites right from the off, indeed when the tide started to flood it was a case of double shots every 6 or 7 minutes. I'd never really had flounder fishing like it, place seemed carpeted in them no, great size though although maybe four over the 30cm mark. Most were around 23cm with plenty less than 20cm, they came at all ranges too from right under the rod tip to out beyond the small breakers. Great nights fishing on a lovely beach.

Lovely 5 bearded fell to Ronalds partner Helen and indeed she took the two codling too. I didn't put up the beach name but if any of the regular NI forum lads want it then just drop us a pm

If someone shows you a mark to fish, respect it and dont pass it of as one of your own, dont tell every man and his dog about it.

I live in County Antrim but do not know where 'Antrim Beach' is. I must be stupid! Any pointers (as in directions not great whites!)?

There is no Antrim Beach, they just aren't naming what beach on the Antrim coast it is. Not suprised with fishing like that, well done.
