Waterfoot pier 4/11/08

#1 Post by JAMMYJOEY »

People: Me and Jonny

Duration: 19:20 to 23:45

Tide: Falling

Weather:dd extremely calm with no rain!

Bait: Rag, lug, mackeral, herring and sandeel
dd
Rigs: Single hook clipped and 2 hook flappers

Results: Too many to count!

Report: We went to the pier as the tide was falling and wanted to fish into deepish water. Had a lot of bait to use up from the weekend. It turned into a great session with loads of Dabs, coalies and pollock. We also had a small codling a couple of whiting and Jonny lost a small conger of about 5 pounds. The baits hardly hit the water but the rods were rattling and we must have had 30+ fish each. Nothing bigger than about 30cm but it was great crack.

Cheers guys. Yeah there was a lot of rubbish about mate and the smell of pee in the corner is definately getting worse. There's even a bin on the pier so it aint difficult to tidy up. Was surprised at the amountof anglers out last nite. Saw guys on marks all the way up from Larne, even Ballygally beach. Never fished it but now i'm wondering if we've been driving too far!

Ballygally beach can produce the goods mate, definately worth a throw. Decent number of Turbot caught there and a few rumours of Bass caught there but I have yet to witness this.
