Ideal conditions at the moment then! Better hurry as the wind shall drop by the weekend. There should only be a few people about.

You pull a bass off that beach Kid and I'll either Hug you or Disown you!!!!
Well I suppose you did get Mullet down there.... and Flatties.... and everything else which is something you have up on me, so I guess your Jam levels wouldn't exclude a Sea Bass!

You are right, Millisle beach does look very Bassy. Infact it'd probably be full of bass if it was 70 miles further south!

I've lived in or near North Down for 41 years and for the past 30 years I've either been a sea angler or sufficiently interested in sea angling to keep my ear to the ground, and in all that time I've never heard of more than 2-3 bass being caught. This is despite this area of the country being heavily fished.

You've done really well catching as many species as you have there, and I'll definitely be giving it a throw in future, but you should be happy with what you've got. Imagine if you do get a bass, you won't get moving on the beach the next time the tides are favourable as half of Belfast will be there before you.

If you do get one don't tell anyone (apart from me)

Good luck.
Species List 2012 (Me) - Lesser Spotted Dogfish, Plaice, Codling, pollack, dab, SS Scorpion Fish, Ballan Wrasse, Codling.

Species List 2012 (Daniel) - Not got started yet :-(

he's now using that scent to scare Rabbits ,they leg it when he comes within 300metres .

As for the Bass Dan ,you'll do well to pull one of them out of millisle lagoon .If you do get one make sure and get a photo ,no matter how poor a quality ,at least that'll give everyone a bit of incentive to go fish for them down your neck of the woods .
If someone shows you a mark to fish, respect it and dont pass it of as one of your own, dont tell every man and his dog about it.

I do a lot more fishing than you imagine. I just don't post every bite, hit and miss I have had on here. Time to remove the shades, take a look around and broaden your horizons. There's more than mullet out there. Take a leaf from Ronald's book and set yourself some new challenges. On second thoughts take a leaf from colin c's book, get yourself a bird and enjoy yourself.

Thanks for that colin c, would never have thought bass could be caught there,a bit like Ballyholme Beach I imagine.
