waterford beach

#1 Post by beachbuddy »

People:on my lonesome

Duration:23.00 to o3.oo

Tide:04.00ish

Weather:wet wet wet oh and windy

Bait:crab mackeral and razor

Rigs:3/0 clipped down and 2 hook flapper size 4's

Results:8 doggies 4 chubby whitting and a greedy dab and numerous pin whitting

Report:Despite the weather i took a chance and fished a sheltered mark in waterford.Didn't expect alot but straight away a doggie followed in quick succession by another and anoher. At this stage it was time to get away from the woof woofs,so i fished an even more sheltered mark that i had.nt fished before but always felt a result would be possible and sure enough the place was packed with whitting eventhough they were tiny they kept me busy. The small ones took mackeral whilst all the bigger ones had a preferance for peeler.
Missed a good bite on the razor so i rebaited with a big lump of bait, same bite again except this time i connected and lone behold a small dab.
Decided to hit youghal on the way home but buckets of weed and DOGFISH again   All in all a resonable excursion but anyone thinking about fishing youghal in the next day or two think again the weed was horrendous.
Tight lines.
