Kilcoole / Dalkey 18-10-2008

#1 Post by stevo74 »

People:Me,myself & I

Duration: 8:00-14:00

Tide: Rising - HW- 14:40

Weather:dd - Calm,mild & sunny

Bait: Crab, mack , squid , Sandeel & lug
Rigs: Fixed Paternoster & Running Ledger

Results: Diddly Squat-fish

Report:

Got up at 6:00am and got ready to head to the Breaches near Kilcoole. It was a good half hour walk to Breaches from Kilcoole station and got first bait in the water for 8ish just as sun was rising. Quickly realised that I was in Weed city, Arizona and knew it would be impoosible for any fish to find my bait underneath all that weed. I carried on anyhow and did some spinning also right where the water runs into the sea there. No joy, so decided to pack up and try somewhere else and it was still early.

Headed back to Dalkey rocks in Dub to get some mack for bait (and table) but blanked there too! Were quite a few others there also and they were pulling in the mack quite regurlarly but
after a couple of hours I decided to move on as rock space was at a premium and had nothing to show.

With two hours left, I quickly went over to the North end of Killiney beach and started panic-fishing as the clock ticked. Basically went through the rest of my bait there and didn't even get a bite.

14:00 came so I packed up and left after blanking my second week in a row.

Anyway it's the Bank holiday next weekend, so here's for 3rd time lucky !!!

Unlucky mate, keep tyring though, don't give up, we've all had a run of blanks, just hope you catch something on you're third outing and it's not a blank holiday weekend! :o

Thats happening quite a bit down in the south east too Rodger. Looks like they are targeting anglers cars in secluded locations.
I even had the badges stolen from my car :?
