Hi all,
just wondering about the best way to attach a reel seat as i'm fed up of my coasters slipping when i'm hauling all those specimum weed fish to the shore must have caught more double figure weedfish this year than ever.Anyway my question is will superglue be ok to use and do i need something on the blank like a tape of somesort in order for the glue to stick toor is there a better adhesive specific for the purpose i require.
Tight lines.

Re: reel seats
ive been using abu griplocks for about 2 years and never had any trouble with them. use them on my rough ground rod and these are put under a fair bit of strain and they still work fine. one thing i do is build up where you want to position them with a little bit of masking tape. reel seat sits much better.
shore species 2008(25):dogfish(3.1lbs), bull huss (12lb 2oz), bass, shore rockling, coalie, whiting, pollack, conger (22.4lbs),flounder, thick lipped mullet (4.8lbs),turbot,ling (11.2lbs),ballan wrasse(4.5lbs), cuckoo wrasse, pouting, poor cod, cod (9.5lbs), dab, 3 bearded rockling, long spined scorpion fish, corkwing wrasse, plaice, trigger fish, sea trout, garfish

Re: reel seats
would have to agree with lumpy, the abu griplock is certainly the
best moveable reelseat available ,holds the reel rock solid .

Re: reel seats
do not use glue to fix the reel seat.if you have to build the blank up under the seat use electrical tape or a piece of shrink tube.the best reel seat i have found is the fuji reel seat with the coaster attachment ,can be moved in a matter of seconds and once tightened will not move at all unlike the abu grip lock if you look at the century rods site you will see they are fitted to all there rods.

Re: reel seats
I bought a batch of them from Landers in Tralee and they will post them to you I think if you give them your card details just tell them the sizes etc
The abu ones are the best ones on the market I tried others but they were too big and clumsy
