#1 Post by round_ourway »

People: Me, Fra and Joined later By dave

Duration: 12.00 - 6.00pm

Tide: HT @ 2.30pm

Weather:Driving Rain and Strong SW winds

Bait: RAg, Mackerel, Lug, Sandeel,
dd
Rigs: Dvice, £ hook flapper (beads), 2 hook booms (no Beads)

Results: 9 Flounder, Lesser Weaver, Coalfish, Whiting,

Report:

Waking up to the see the crazy weather on saturday with predictions for it to clear up later that day. Me and fra got to waterfoot pier and decided that it was unfishable with the winds straight in our faces and opted for the Beach.
After an hour or so we connected with the flounders with a full brace of fish 3 times in a row. With a cheeky wee weaver showing his face.
With Dave arriving we headed round the pier to try for a couple of more species. Small coalies were all over the bay and I tried and failed to get a doggie.
I left them the pier with fra and dave staying until around 11.30pm. I will let them guys fill ya in, I think they had a field day with the doggies and pollock

Great pics Stevie!!
All went quiet for a while after you left the Pier, but after and hour or so Francis started cleaning up on the Doggies. I cant remember how many he got but it was mixed in with a couple of Dabs and Coalies. I only managed the 1 Doggie but was staying away from the Rag/Mack combo and stuck to the big Lug/Squid bait hoping for a codling or two. I only got one small Codling but managed a few Dabs on that bait. Those Dabs really give you a good solid bite!!
Just before we left one of the other guys fishing had a 3lb+ Pollock on Mack tail!!

We were getting pestered by those wee coalies the whole time with the rag and mack. good to hear about the pollock. The dabs are cool looking flatties as well nearly transparent. good number of fish caught. I tried my hardest to get a doggie before i left to no avail lol.
