People: just me

Duration: about 3 hours

Tide: falling

Weather:fine with west NW wind

Bait: rag and razor
dd
Rigs: single hook rigs

Results: 4 bass,1 plaice

Report: Headed out to one of my favourite haunts last night for a few hours...despite the strong west wind the sea was fairly calm. Not a tap for an hour and a half with baits coming back untouched every time....I was starting to get concerned when I had a little rattle which turned out to be a plaice of just under a 3/4lb, my first one this year, things were looking up!!. This was followed shortly by a good strong bite which I missed  definetly a bass bite. Over the next hour, I had 3 bass all under 3lbs and all gave a good fight for their size....got another gentle bite after that and thought I was into another small bass...after a very short fight I was surprised to see a good sized bass in front of me...it weighed in at exactly 8lbs and my best so far this year....despite my best efforts I couldn't revive it. First time this has happened this year as most of the fish I catch go back...packed up after this, both pleased and dissappointed at the same time..anyway, thats fishing I suppose....at least it won't be wasted.
