Daiwa 7HT Turbo

At the suggestion of various members and given the magazines will run a mile from criticising a piece of kit, here is your chance to tell us what you really think about a rod, reel, line, lure... keep it legal please!

Daiwa 7HT Turbo

#1 Post by Danny M. »

7 HT Turbo,

Had my first few casts of it last night.
Placed the same brake block that I have in my other original 7HT and adjusted the end caps to similar position.

The reel is a lot faster than the original; line began to lift while I was trying soft casts.
I found the harder I hit the cast the smoother the reel worked and the line remained constant on the spool and didn’t lift.
The reel does scream when you cast though but not in a bad way :P

Retrieve is up a small bit on the original and adequate for clean ground.
The handle is also a bit longer and easier on the wrists. It is also more comfortable to hold on the fingers.

The Drag also appears to be stronger under pressure too.

I like it 8)
