Malahide-150908-dogfish frenzy...

Duration:10pm to 1.30am

Tide:flooding

Weather:very nice, cloudy

Bait:fresh peeler, lug, squid and sandeels
dd
Rigs:pulley

Results:21 doggies......




Report:After work decided to go collecting peelers... Find about a dozen, the sea was colored, the weather nice so decided to go fishing the flooding tide at night, maybe in the hope of a bass...
Unfortunately, it was the night of the dogfish... Non stop action and finish the session without baits left and 21 doggies...
It was not the fishes I was hoping for, but certainly a good fun... :)
2010: starry smoothound, common smoothound, bass, flounder, dogfish, scorpion fish, tub gunard, tope, thornback ray, bull huss, coalfish, pollack, mackerel, turbot, whiting...

2011: flounder, dab, 5 bearded rockling, whiting, dogfish, codling, starry smoothound, common smoothound, bass, bull huss ...

2012: dogfish, codling, starry smoothound (PB), bass, common smoothound (PB)...

Sure,but you can't say they fight like hell.... But anyway I was thinking about the fact that maybe dogfish (in a big number) maybe scare other fish???
Is anybody can tell me more about that... :?:

excellent fishing aurelien. we have been fishing for a couple of years now and you caught more doggies in one session than we have in over 2 years. well done fella 8) 8) 8)

Thanks, I've caught some doggies while beach or rock fishing but never like that... And I was surprise to have just doggies... Maybe they move (migrate???) sometimes in very big shoal... I'll go back to the same spot this week-end to see if they are still there or if it was just a one time....
