cushendun beach

#1 Post by minty »

People:me

Duration:6.00--1.30am

Tide:high

Weather:warm/calm

Bait:rag and mack
dd
Rigs:2 hook flapper and pulley

Results:plaice, flounder and 5 doggies

Report:headed up to thhe Dun hoping for a few codling, set up behind the nets at the gealic pitch
as there was a comp on and the lads had the rest of the beach pegged off. Within about half hour i landed
a nice double of a plaice and flounder, both were a good enough size. after that the bites were steady but
just could'nt connect with anything, as it got darker bites seemed to stop until the dogs turned up, then it
was steady landing these little rig wreckers, started putting out bigger baits in the hope of a ray( local fella
siad a few had been caught recently) but no luck, had enough of the doggies so packed up and headed for
home.
some times catching crabs is a good thing.........or is it...........?

nice session. dont mind catching the dogs but when you've brought in more than ten in a session it becomes a pain alright (I'm not saying I have caught more than ten myself like .. lol) unlucky on not connecting with the ray but sounds like you were kept busy enough with the doggies.
