just wondering has anyone tryed out these hooks?
they have made them with the barb on the outside of the shank,
they say its to reduce hook throw.
if anyone has tryed them, what do they think about them, good? or bad?

Re: VCM Hooks
Not these particular ones, but I have tested hooks with the outside barb.
When a hook point touched resistance, the hook pivots until the line points through eye directly to the point of contact with the fishes mouth.
Unfortunately the barb may by this stage be almost a right angles to the pull from the line, and this can occasionally prevent hookups.
An outside barb places the thicker part of the hook in a place where it has less effect at preventing hookups during the strike.
The shorter the shank, the bigger the advantage this type give.

Re: VMC Hooks
iv used them before theyre brutal they tend to snap along the shank where the barbs are which is fierce annoying when you`ve just hooked a decent fish
