As far as I recall from the last three years the big tackle sale takes place in the spring, usually March.

You've got to be vigilant with these things as the notice you get isn't great - and they sell out really fast.

I missed the last two because I was out of the country.

You can also watch their website: http://www.lidl.ie/ie/home.nsf/pages/i.home.

Also, the Irish Mail on Sunday (er, I only read it for the indepth current affairs) has a Lidl pullout every week which I scan for upcoming bargains.

Their waders are crap. Spend €20 more on PVC set from your tackle shop.

i got 2 reels there 6 months back for 6.50E each, been using 1 since for spinnin, have had 150+ bass, tons of pollock, macks, still as good as new, as far as value for money :) 1 of the plugs in the tackle boxes, the long skinny 1 is a very good lure, and has taken lots of bass, ect.
What I said in public
"Bass, there future in your hands, support catch and release"
..but I'm a liar really

The knifes look alright?
I heard somewhere they had a beach tripod last year but it erodes on the sand so id say it might be better off for pier or rocks, anyone get one?

I got the line last year which is great, use it on the casting reels for practice and it's fine! 2.99 you can't go wrong. But this looks great for seeing how far you cast!!

B-Square Fishing Line

2 piece set
2 lines per set
Length 220m
25m divisions differently coloured to judge casting distance
Price per set
Blue n White is the new Black!!!

i was looking to buy my first rod/reel last year and a friend gave me a "b-square pilkmaster 240 rod and reel" that came from lidl. its the one on the site, product 7/25 for 24.99. he reckoned it was crap but worth using as it was my first set and it wouldnt be a waste of money if i didnt like the whole fishing thing. i had plenty of mack and pollack on the them but the rod is only 8 foot so after a while i went and bought something bigger to try and get out further but still used the reel.
ive since upgraded my gear but the reel is still in use on a friends rod and is working perfect but he wouldnt use it a lot, maybe once every 3 weeks. its rinsed and oiled after every use.
it came with a handy bag and a box with a few bits and pieces in it that i now use for lures.

I don't believe this stuff should be censored. It is after all a genuine review by an angler.

I agree it is an opinion on a piece of equipment that has been used by the person, there are plenty of reviews on the site saying that such a product they used is either good or crap! plus they are crap! mine filled up with water first time i used them  :)

but i would still get a pair for bait digging!

Just on the waders, I too bought a pair of their waders and within 2 sessions they were letting in water. They'd cracked at the seams....
