Duration:5am to 1pm


Tide:


Weather:brilliant


Bait:fresh mack,frozen crab


Rigs:tope rigs 6/0,8/0.
feathers

Results:30 tope,9 hounds,dogs,1 huss,whiting,gurnard,mack,3 ray

Report:up early and headed for courtown,was in the water for 5:15am
headed out for mack and after 1hr we had our tope bait for the day
went to a mark of daithi for the tope ,and boy was he spot on
after the first bait hit the water it only took 7 or 8min before the first
reel started to scream
tope after tope the biggest 25lb ,in total 30 tope on the boat,
daithi had nice small eyed ray.
the only time on the boat with no camera,few pics on garrys phone cant get them on the computer,next day well have it
have to say best outting ever had on the water
its well marked on the gps so heading there the weekend

BUT are you sure it was a small eyed/ painted ray :?:

have done a lot of fishing down there and never seen or heard of one down off cahore.
only ever had them down south wexford/ waterford/cork.

Was fishing with m.b3 off the site when he caught one off ennereilly a couple of years back. First and last one I ever saw on the east coast but a painted none the less.
I require a tremendous amount of calcium

just looked up the small eyed ,it was one for sure
2009 species= whiting,flounder,dab,codling,bass,dogs,rockling,smooth hound,

well done pete what a session that was , not that many tope being caught up wicklow way at the mo heading out tomarrow so fingers crossed. :lol:
