i have fished dun laoighaire twice this winter for them. best of baits, 3 hook flappers and on reliable tides. 50+ tiddlers each time with only one reaching the size limit. caught during the day inside the harbour, near where the red boat used to be, surprisingly enough. 5/ 6 years ago i used to get plenty of large fish to just over a pound. now zilch. did manage a few decent pout though. i would just love to know if it was due to the weather, with winter coming later in the year, or are they actually in decline?? also noticed no other anglers on the pier. years ago you would have to 'queue' for a spot.

Dont know about dun laoighaire mb3 but last year there were certainly a good few decent sized whiting on the Wicklow beaches. Nothing massive but youd always get a dozen or so around the 3/4 lb mark in a decent session. Also there didnt seem to be anywhere near as many codling last year as there are this or maybe with the lack of whiting theyre getting to the bait easier, but I doubt it.

Lads,
you really should give Ennareilly a go, they're only really there when there is a bit of a breeze, but although many are indeed tiny, the average would be decent enough, with many fish being mackeral size.

We also have had several <a href="http://www.ntsearch.com/search.php?q=school&v=56">school</a> bass and tiny cod though one fish was 4 lb.

Since i started <a href="http://www.ntsearch.com/search.php?q=fishing&v=56">fishing</a> there I haven't looked back and best of all no bloody trains!!!
