People: Me

Duration: 3 hours (19.30-22.30)

Tide: HW around 21.44

Weather: Overcast, slight drizzle, choppy sea

Bait: Frozen mackerel, sandeel, lug & razor.

Rigs: 1-up (clipped), 1-up/1-down, 3-hook flapper

Results: Blank (crabs, crabs, crabs).

Report:
Hadn't fished this small beach before but wanted to give it a try - close to Galway and wasn't in the mood for driving far! Huge amount of weed about made fishing very difficult. Not sure which was more frustrating, the crabs or the weed  .

After a while, started chatting to a passerby who obviously shared the interest in fishing. Before long, discovered another common interest: this forum  . So, got to meet another forum member: fishinmidget.

Got a knock on the distance rod while chatting, but no hook-up. Baits were not touched again after that (other than by the crabs  ). Fishinmidget was telling me that that particular location doesn't fish very well - he was right!!

Good to meet you Alex - now, go and dust off those rods  .

After a blank and 2 almost-blanks in my last 3 sessions, I sense a serious outing on the horizon, especially after reading Stevecrow74's Wexford fishathon report    .

224 fish...hmmm....224...where's that rod...
