Is there anywhere in Ireland where i can buy live peeler crab? Was hoping to get two hundred or so before bass fishing resumes.

Hi Aidan,

Fresh peeler starts to get very scarce on the SW coast this time of the year with the main peel over at this stage. Most guys won't even bother checking their traps. Not sure about the the rest of the coast.

Frozen might be your best bet but again expect to pay at least €1 per crab.

Yeah they do live peelers at £1 a crab, I think they are pre-order though!

Plenty of shops sell fresh peeler down south but it's more a question of availability this time of the year.
