West Cork shore marks

#1 Post by RockHunter »

I am heading to west Cork for the weekend. it is not really a fishing weekend as the girlfriend will be with me but I will try to get in a bit of fishing. Looking at the tide tables it looks like it will be afternoon fishing. So I was hoping that somebody could give me a few tips on good marks for daylight fishing.
We will be staying near Garrettstown - what it the fishing like on the strand there?

I fished a bit around Courtmacsherry last year but as I had only taken up fishing last summer I wasn't too successful (apart from a few mackerel). What would be the best bait for there?

Last year I alsp found a few good marks for pollock in the Seven Heads area - but it is too early in the season for pollock? I havn't seen too many shore reports mentioning pollock so far this year.

Is there anywhere that is fishing well for bass at the moment - the weather forecast for the weekend looks good for bass fishing.

Please send me a PM rather than reveal a good mark to the general public. It will be treated in strictest confidence.

Thanks.

pollack season

Hi

You are on the cusp of the pollack season, it depends on whether the sand eels are in or not, down there I imagine they are by now, easily...

Time spent fishing is never time wasted...

2015 targets - a triggerfish, a specimen bass, a three bearded rockling to complete the set and something big and toothy from certain north Mayo deep water marks
