People:me, Neil(fishface) and Derek

Duration:5-30pm-11-15pm

Tide:falling

Weather:breezy, drizzle turning to heavy showers later

Bait:mack, rag, lug

Rigs:various

Results:Derek;2 whiting, me; 3 whiting, 1 dab, 1 lsd., Neil: 1 lsd

Report:Arrived at 5.30pm and set up with high hopes but after a couple of hours only Derek had something to show, 2 whiting. He headed off having forgotten his coat and not wanting to get hypothermia. Neil and I were in good spirits though and were sure we'd catch later on when dusk arrived 8) . When dusk arrived ,,,,,,,and went,,,, we were starting to get worried  . We hadnt seen anybody else catching anything(i'm open to correction if any of you are reading this  ) . Its one thing when youre bait is being robbed by crabs or nibbled by smaller fish, but I think its worse when it comes back untouched  . Whats wrong with it ?, why are they not interested?, is there anything out there?. :? :? Please bite,,,,, go on,,,,. Then I copped on to what I was doing wrong,,,, ,,,,,I hadnt said a prayer. :) It was that time of the evening, when I had tried everything else so here goes,,,,,

" Our Father ,who art in Heaven, please give me a bite,
I must not blank, no not tonight,
For i've a report to write"

At 9'45 pm after over 4 hours of waiting my prayers were answered by a small whiting and the blank was saved (Blessed be the Father  ). Neil was under pressure now as he stared down the barrel of a blank. I was catching steady now as i reeled in another 2 whiting." Its not fair ", said Neil as he bemoaned the fact that the pupil was outfishing the master 8) . I reeled in a Dab and finally a doggie and broached the subject of leaving with Neil  . The drizzle was turning heavier now and we decided to pack up. Everything was packed and ready to go when I heard that line ,,,,,"Just one more cast" and Neil lobbed out into the distance. Yes, you guessed it he had a bite, a fine doggie ( THE MOST WONDERFUL DOGGIE OF THEM ALL  ) . He danced like a cross between Rudolf Nureyev and Michael Flatley on speed and i caught the moment on film. It brought a tear to my eye (almost  ) to see a grown man in this euphoric state . I'll post the magic pic below. No Bass again but what the hell, moments like that make life worth living, roll on next time
