Duration:3.30/6.30pm.

Tide:l.w.@2.30

Weather:SW. wind F. 4/5 broken sunshine/showers

Bait: lugs

Rigs:2 up

Results:5 bass 3 flounder

Report; expected a nice surf after yesterdays southerly, twas a bit flatter than i would have liked, and the water was very clear :( , still twas better than the cold winds we have had recently, so went and dug about 25/30 big fat juicey lugs, the tide had not turned yet so went home for T. and to have a wee think/talk :? with myself,........immmmmmmmmmm........water very clear bright sunshine????????, maybe twas time to try this florocarbon stuff, used berkley vanish 14lb. b.s. (thanks pugs  ) for the bottom snools on both rods (1 @ 18 in. 1 @ 10 in.) on both rods, " the 18 in. F.C. snool accounted for ALL fish" 8) ;;;;;;; "the fishing" went to the right of shanleys first to have a few casts at the "cove" missed a tug first cast then had a schoolie :) nothing for the next hour and had decided to move back up the beach about 1 k.m. when i got another a little bigger :) decisions,decisions,decisions......shoud i stay? or shoud i go!!!!. i moved and had another bass right off, had 2 more bass here and several flukes before the bait was gone :x enjoyed the afternoons fishin,....1 of the fish was marked from a gill net....... post a few pics. later..

Hey Cortaz

We get trout with those marks on them from Cormorants

Usually though there would be damage on both sides of the fish

there gillnet marks alright, i can tell from the mark that the mesh was 3.5 or 3.75in...
Conditions are now near perfect for surf-fishin on clonea (@1.30pm.25/4) think anyone who fishes there today/tonite would get a few bass..................i will :) 8)
