People: Me
Duration: 9.00 pm to 12.30 am
Tide: HW at 11.30 pm
Weather: Very mild, very light westerly breeze, clear
Bait: lug worm, squid
Rigs: 3/0 pennel pulley, 4/0 single hook flapper, size 1 three hook flapper
Results: 4 flounder
Report: I headed back to the same beach mark where I got two bass the night before after stocking up with a fresh supply of lug worms and aching arms from all the digging earlier in the afternoon.
However, when I got there the surf was very weak. The conditions looked more suitable for flounder so I sent up one rod with the size 1 three hook flapper rig baited with lug worm. Being an optimist when it comes to fishing I set the other rod up with the larger hooks but that was not touched.
All four flounder were caught within a 40 minute period shortly before high tide on the three hook flapper.
Three of them varied from 24 - 25 cm. The fourth was just a baby, about 14 cm.
After that it went quite with no further bites.
