Evening all.
Been on the site for the last few days now and I think every1 is doing a great job. Seems as though nobody is holding back any help at all to someone looking to have a question answered. I've been coarse fishing for years and decided to rekindle a childhood passion for sea fishing late last summer. I went out and bought a new rod and reel and a few basics but unfortunately I never got to use them. A couple of mates have been out a couple of evenings for the last week or two and have had little or no success in Greystones. I've checked the tide tables and high water for Sunday is in and around 11am so we've decided to take a trip out somewhere. I was wondering if anyone could point me in the direction of a mark or two an hour or so from Dublin. Is it better to stick to the evenings or try the earlier times. The lads have been casting peeler and rag 60-70yds from the shore and I was wondering if this was OK or would we be better fishing the float or closer, further, pier or shore. Any help at all would be greatly appreciated.
Many thanks,
John

I'm not sure how it's fishing at the moment, but go to Greystones South Beach, come out the archway and fish about 50 yards to the right, cast about 30-50 yards out. I'd be surprised if you didn't catch anything, baits, crab, worms, squid all produce there with crab turning up the odd surprise at night.
You might have to use smaller hooks to be turning in a few at the moment.
2008 Species: Flounder, whiting, coal fish, Dogfish, rockling, dab.

Sunday morning it is. HW is roughly 11.20. Anyone have any recommendations as to where to get the best results. Was thinking Wicklow harbour, Arklow or maybe just Greystones. Any one know which of these might fish well in the morning or if there are some other spots that I'd be better off trying.

Thanks,
John
