Meta-lite

At the suggestion of various members and given the magazines will run a mile from criticising a piece of kit, here is your chance to tell us what you really think about a rod, reel, line, lure... keep it legal please!

Meta-lite

#1 Post by shockleader50 »

Hi guys.Has anyone any info or opinions on the John Metcalf Meta-lite rods. Are they good, bad or indifferent??My girlfriend wants to start fishing so she will be using my Zziplex NG2.I need another fairly decent rod to cover mostly clean ground marks.I want to pair it up with my Daiwa HPB12MM so it needs to be capable of putting 2 baits a fair distance if needed.
Cheers.

they certainly are very good rods, they are built on century
blanks, their build quality is superb, their is one on a certain auction-site
it has actually been built on a conoflex blank, great for clean to mixed
ground, i should know i used to own it,

regards steve.

hi tommy ,

i've had a meta lite turbo for some time. they are really well finished etc.
the one i have is maybe a little too stiff at the tip for my liking but its still perfect after 15 years.

you should be able to get one that suits you.

I have know a guy who uses the meta lite storm which is a great rod it will put out 3 baits as far as you can go without any hassel it holds great in storms and can be used in clean or mixed ground.

I think beachcaster has one for sale in the tackle for sale section ,maybe get a test chuck before buying
If someone shows you a mark to fish, respect it and dont pass it of as one of your own, dont tell every man and his dog about it.
