to step or not to step.

just wanted to ask any of the casting gurus, do they incorporate a step or
even two, when full pendulam casting,do not use a step my-self ,just
swivel on the balls of my feet, some thing like a golfers foot
movements. interested to hear youre feedback on this.

There are a number of Australian casters that employ steps in there casting from one to three depending on the individual.

Here is a clip from todays practice - note that I am just getting back into it after a shoulder injury and a lay off due to working over in Japan.

The first cast is using a casting float ( 62 gram ) only and it is what I use to get my timing and foot position correct. The second one is with the 150 gram weight.

looks nice jeremy, my own conclusion about the amount of steps,
is the fact, it seems to add to the momentum of the cast, the pre-
loading of the rod has been carried through into the steps, and
onto the follow through, almost a single flowing action thats steps
included, for a even more fluent transference of power, thanks for
youre reply j, and clip.

Have just taken delivery of my Kompressor S Rod & SS blank and had 3 casts with the S on the 125 gram. distances were between 210 to 220 meters.

Will be interesting to see how the SS goes over the weekend.

they really should suit youre style jeremy, even more so than the zti,
progresive tip,very powerfull through mid-section- and into the butt,
the ss is on a power with the older wr300, alot- lighter for sure,
far- more useable power, than the older-style wr-300, alot of top-
casters used them for otg casting , all the best jeremy let us know how
