nice weather finished a meeting in arklow at 4.30pm(honest there was a meeting) hit the beach to be hit by suicidal fish
every cast a fish was getting ridiculos at one point i was looking at rod tip saying to myself maybe they will unhook themselves. it was like peadafile fishing trebles doubles singles more trebles

tried uping the size of the bait to no avail

whats the solution to this.

Dont get me wrong its great to be catching but man it was doing me nut in and every one of them was deeply hooked

size 5/0 hooks with big baits is worth a go with that many small fish the chances of a lunker are quite good its sometimes worth using smaller hooks with a small gape this tends to hook fish less deep and do less damage size four,s with small baits would be my choice leave a slip of mack or squid dangling just hooked once this seems to help

Try using size 4 match hooks. These can be pulled out as they bend when pulled.
