Lads,

Heading to Ny next week and will be staying in Manhatten...the zip code is 10019....anyone know any fishing stores round that area? :P

Have tried looking up online but not much success.....cant stray too far from this area as I will be kinda tied down! :evil:

I used to get stuff at 'The Sports Authority' in Queens. Its a general sports shop but carries an extensive range of fishing gear.
Why not join Cobh SAC - looking for new members....

when i was in NYC i got the phone book and i looked up fishing tackle shops. there is one great shop on the lower east side i think, it had absolutely everything. you might as well try for a few stripers while your there!!! what an amazing city enjoy

dont no any fishing strores lived in new york for ten years if ya want to go fishing go to sheepshead bay in brooklyn out by brooklyn college.

Capitol Fishing on 36th and Broadway is probably the handiest, its only two or three blocks from Macy's so you won't have to go too far.

Try capitol on west 36th,good value in reels 'braid and lures,your other option is to order the stuff mail order from Cabelas or one of the other mail order companies and have it delivered to your hotel or wherever your staying a few days prior to your arrival.

One or two fishing shops in manhattan, mostly parts of sports shops and mostly fresh water angling, the place to go is Bernies Bait and Tackle Emmons ave Brooklyn get subway to Sheepshead bay 15min walk or 5 min taxi sound shop ,right on the seafront hope you enjoy your trip if ,its a nice day take the walk, lovley place its also on the net with map easy to find

lads you cant let out wall mart or k-mart when it comes to small abu reels
picked up a 6000 for $55 thats for noting also circle hooks are cheap also
braid lines are cheap here to and you will pick up a spinning rod for noting also .
for fly fishing check out the urban angler go prices on rio lines but thats the only thing wort buying here

Dropped into capitol, picked up a shimano 5000 fi+ various hard and soft lures. They don't do AVET reels any more :( . I'll try and pick one up around MA (eg Boston) or NH etc
